Market Situation Update for 1st week

Inventory in DRAM makers are low?

Market news about the inventory of major DRAM makers, especially for Samsung and Hynix, are saying that they have low inventory. Sales representatives on those companies have being complained about couldn't make enough allocation for their customers. On the distributors and traders' side, we are sure they have inventory but they won't sell at price below $2.5 right now. They are looking for higher selling point.

Keep chasing high on Spot market.

First week of year, we are sure that market will chase spot price above $2.5 for 128Mb SDRAM. Seems like the up-trend for spot price will get firm from $2.5 for 128Mb on the Jan. Contract price should follow spot price but not that soon.

Unconfirmed news about low inventory on US and Euro market.

Market news, which is from the floor without 100% confirmed, the traders and distributors on Europe and US almost sold out the inventory on their hands before Christmas. If that is true, then it will be hot market after New Year. Currently, we can't confirm this floor news since most of people are still on the holiday right now. We just can assume that if most people do believe the market is going up and chasing for that, then the price will be sure pushed up.
