DDR prieces begin to trade downward, SDRAM prices remain uptrend.
Contract
prices trend down for DDR, but slightly uptrend for SDRAM.
DDR - Contract
prices for second half of Dec. are expected slightly down to $56~$60 level
comparing with the first half period's prices: $58~$64 for 256MB DDR.
SDRAM - Contract
prices, however are expected to reverse up a little bit, firm up to $2 and
$3 level (at least) for 128Mb and 256Mb respectively.
Forecast for next
month's contract - DDR contract prices are looking slightly downward. SDRAM
prices will hold up a little bit or keep flat if the demand comes from Asia's
preparing for Lunar New Year doesn't dismiss from expectation. However, DRAM
markers are tight their supply on SDRAM, we don't expect SDRAM prices will
fall down. On the other hand, SDRAM prices also won't exceed in DDR prices.
Spot
prices are looking downward in DDR, slightly upward in SDRAM.
DDR - DDR 266MHz
product line prices are looking downward because mass demand wanes away and
supply increases in DDR 266MHz. However, DDR 333MHz product lines are still
hot due to lacking of qualify supply and control shipment from those DRAM
makers. DDR 400MHz are not in the hot list of demand yet, therefore prices
for DDR 400MHz seems in the downtrend in the short-term. But the volume for
DDR 400MHz are not that much, major inventory in this item comes from US market
as they original expecting demand should pick up from there.
SDRAM - SDRAM prices
could stay stable for this week, after Christmas and New Year Holiday, marketers
expect it will rise up a little to catch the demand from Asian market. As
the DRAM makers will tight SDRAM's shipment in the near-term, marketers are
expecting the prices level won't fall down and probably still can rise up
to reach the $2.5 and $3.5 for 128Mb and 256Mb in the short-term. However,
the official prices offer from DRAM makers are much higher than street prices
right now, average are around $3 and $5 for 128Mb and 256Mb respectively.
