DDR SDRAM Price
Information collected from Feb. 6th’s DDR Summit took place in Taipei, Taiwan
- Micron’s DDR Pricing Plan
DDR200 (PC1600) =PC133 Now!
DDR266 (PC2100) =PC133 2Q01! 10~20% premium now!
- Other major brands (including Samsung, Hyundai, Infineon, Mosel) are more
positive in terms of price than Micron's price plan. They expect price should
be higher than SDRAM price adding 10~20%.
- Most of the companies anticipate DDR SDRAM will pick up in 2H01.
DDR SDRAM Cost
Most of companies addressed that the producing process for DDR SDRAM is almost same with SDRAM. So, the cost structure is similar to SDRAM. But before it becoming economic mass production, the average cost is mostly around 10% higher than SDRAM. The major difference mostly comes from testing process.
