No difference between 128Mbx2 and 256Mb

Price crosses over for two times of 128Mb and 256Mb.

From figure 1 and 2, the left axis of price difference of 256Mb price minus two times of 128Mb price already reach the zero. From figure 3, the monthly output of 128Mb in SDRAM took 26.9% which is less than 256Mb's 29.5%. 128Mb DDR's output is 15.83% which also less than 16.5 of 256Mb's output. In total, 256Mb's 45.9% is higher than 42.78% of 128Mb's share.

Price and production crossing over officially announces the main stream migration. 256Mb price will become more competitive in commodity market, price trend in these items will be more violent.

On the other hand, 128Mb won't get fade. 8 chips of 128Mb make 128MB module; 16 chips of 128Mb make 256MB module. The flexibility of this generation will keep it active on the market.
