Struggling on rising spot price without demand supporting.
Earthquake's damage
Real damage numbers of the earthquake are higher than most of Taiwanese companies' official report. Appropriately number of damage wafer is around 40K which can influence the spot market a little bit. On regular process of manufacturing the real supply outcome for those wafers should happen in May or June, so it's no immediately delivering problem from those DRAM companies especially they have inventory to support their customers right now.
Spot doesn't over react
Currently the spot market doesn't show the big reaction of earthquake's effect. Major reason is there is really no demand. Weak demand makes the sluggish market. Recently orders' quantity is around 20~50K that kind of small quantity orders on the spot market.
Price will struggle to rise but it's hard
Spot price is hard to rise above $4 if there is no good news to support that. But it's also not easy to fall down in current situation. Price probably will be just up and down within current level a little bit.
Expecting News? News?
Lots of people are waiting news to come out from Micron and Hynix, also watching closely in the big worldwide war issue. It will be a little bit silent market if there is not much news coming out or demand picking up.
