Stop falling on Spot
Earthquake caused some damage in Taiwan's fabs.
Subsequent to an earthquake of 6.8 magnitudes that struck Taiwan at afternoon of March 31, most of Taiwanese DRAM makers have no serious impact reports on and will get back to the normal throughput within 1 week. There are still some losses for overall, marketers will be aware of that and begin to react on the spot market especially on Asian Market.
Spot price will stop falling
Result of earthquake effect on market will stop the falling situation of spot price at short term. With the help of the contract price still try to keep in current level, we assume that spot will keep flat or has a slightly rebound for short-term.
DRAM makers' contract still report to remain
Although demand side seems beginning to slow down from Apr., major DRAM makers are still remaining their quotation of contract price in the same level with last month. Cross checking the quantity of the contract probably has gone down a little bit as well.
Brokers and channels inventory check
It seems like there are not much inventory in brokers and channels side. Most of them already traded goods out of stock before slow season coming. As monthboard's shipment still forecasts the weak number, they seem like to keep the low inventory strategy.
